Schroff is offering CCAs (conduction-cooling assemblies) for use in virtual private exchange, Versa module European, and CompactPCI boards. The CCAs are claimed to cool PCBs and protect them from shock or vibration. They are available in three and 6U sizes and can reduce heat in conduction cooled PCI or express mezzanine cards. The CCAs have five-wedge retainers, which lock the frame into the card guide to provide a high clamping force with even pressure distribution for low thermal resistance, says the company. They have a backing plate or strips, and integral extractor handles to disengage high-contact-density board connectors. The CCAs are suitable for defence, aerospace, transportation and industrial systems. The aluminium alloy assemblies are featured with black anodised, chemical film or electroless nickel finishes.
