Euroquartz has introduced the HPK5361 and 5761, two surface mount PECL (positive emitter coupled logic) oscillators for use in SONET, Ethernet, broadband access, microprocessors, DSP, FPGA, industrial controllers, test and measurement equipment and fibre channel applications. The oscillators offer low phase noise of -138dBc/Hz at a frequency of 10kHz and femtosecond integrated phase jitter of 200fs. They offer frequencies ranging from 40 to 200MHz, and feature differential PECL square wave output logic. The oscillators operate with a 2.5 or 3.3V power supply at commercial and industrial temperature ranges of -10 to +70°C and -40 to +85°C, respectively. They ensure frequency stability of ±25, ±50 and ±100ppm. They feature start-up time of 3 to 10ms, ageing of ±3ppm/year maximum and duty cycle of 50±5% measured at 50% of waveform. The HPK5361 oscillators are housed in a standard 5x3.2x1.2mm surface mount package and the HPK5761 oscillators are available in a 7x5x1.8mm package. Both oscillators are supplied on 16mm tape, 8mm pitch, 180mm diameter reel, 1,000 pieces/reel. They can withstand reflow soldering temperatures up to 260°C for 10s maximum, two cycles maximum.
