NXP Semiconductors has introduced the BC69PA, a medium power transistor in a 2x2mm 3pin, dual, flat, no-lead 2020-3 plastic package, for general-purpose power-sensitive applications in mobiles, tablet PCs, automotive electronics, interior car lighting, industrial and household appliances. The package is claimed to save space on the PCB and maintain high electrical performance of up to 2A. When mounted on four-layer PCBs, the transistor offers good thermal performance and allows Ptot levels of up to 1.1W, according to the company. The transistor features low heat dissipation, an exposed heatsink, collector-to-emitter voltages of 20 to 80V, collector current, IC of up to 2A and peak collector current, ICM of up to 3A. The transistor is automotive AEC Q101 qualified.
