LEM has announced the ITC series of transducers for galvanically isolated, high-precision DC, AC and pulsed current measurements in rail-traction applications. The series comprises three models, ITC 1000-S, 2000-S and 4000-S, with corresponding nominal current measurement ratings of 1000, 2000 and 4000ARMS. The transducers feature the Class 0.5R measurement accuracy for on-board energy monitoring and linearity error of under 0.05% with offset currents of less than ±20µA. They also feature a closed-loop fluxgate technology, test winding for checking operations, low thermal drifts, and operate between -40 and +85°C. The transducers offer insulation test voltage of up to 14kVRMS at 50Hz in 1min, and are immune to transient overloads of 100kA for 100ms and to external interferences such as magnetic fields. The current usage varies from less than 80 to ±340mA from a ±24V DC supply. The bandwidth for the ITC 4000-S is 82kHz with 3dB. The apertures of the ITC 4000-S and the ITC 2000-S have a diameter of 102 and 63mm, respectively. The ITC 4000-S is available in a one-piece housing. The ITC 1000-S and the ITC 2000-S are available in a split construction with the measurement head in a case, and the circuitry mounted remotely in a metal enclosure.
