Powersolve has added the CP 452345 to its CP series of lithium polymer thin cells that can be manufactured down to 0.4mm thick, according to the company. The light weight cell is a primary laminated aluminium thin foil battery with a nominal 3V DC output. According to the company, the cell has a low self discharge rate of around 1% a year with a shelf life of 10 years. The cell is said to be safe and explosion proof. It operates between -40 and +85ºC, measures 0.45x23x45mm, weighs 0.7g and gives 30mAh. The CP series is available in standard sizes from16mAh in a 0.4x29x22mm package to 3000mAh in a 5x50x51mm package. The cells can be used in smart cards, asset tracking tags, electronic tracking systems, smoke detectors and medical equipment.
