Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing has introduced the CHAMP-AV8 and the VPX6-490 signal and image processor boards, the high density fabric bandwidth VPX (virtual path cross-connect) modules, for signals intelligence, and communications intelligence, radar processing applications. The boards, together with the company's FPGA engines and FPGA mezzanine I/O card, provide the general purpose GPU for high performance embedded computing applications. The CHAMP-AV8 board has two quad-core Intel Core i7-2715QE processor, Intel advanced vector extensions 256bit floating-point vector unit, 269Gflops peak computing performance, up to 8Gbytes DDR3 SDRAM, Gen2 serial RapidIO data plane and PCIe expansion plane interface. It is 6U OpenVPX compliant and also features direct memory access offload engines, one mezzanine site, power management, VxWorks BSP (board support packages), Linux BSP and driver suite, and air- and conduction-cooled versions. The VPX6-490 12V board has two Nvidia GPUs based on the Nvidia Fermi architecture, 6U OpenVPX GPGPU application accelerator, 80Gbyte/s memory bandwidth, and 240 compute unified device architecture processor cores. It also features 2Gbyte graphics DDR5 memory, 256bit memory interface, 16 lane Gen2 PCIe interface, two digital visual interface graphics outputs, and temperature sensors.
