RAFI has released Glasscape touch control displays which have a 19inch touchscreen. The multi-touch screen has 11bit resolution and supports Windows 7 gesture control. The control units resist mechanical or chemical stress, as the company claims that its capacitive technology allows sensor films to be attached to the back of the glass surface. Surface contamination with dust, perspiration or humidity does not impair the control systems' functionality, says the company. The sensor films allows for the operation with gloves. The touchscreens have jointless interfaces which enable easy cleaning, necessary in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. The displays can be installed in portrait or landscape format based on the requirements and type of application.
