RF Micro Devices has introduced the 900MHz RF1293 and 850MHz RF1293A switch filter modules with low insertion loss. The filter modules are suitable for multi-mode GSM, enhanced data rates for global evolution, LTE, W-CDMA and universal mobile telecommunications system handset applications, cellular modems and USB devices. The switch filter modules integrate low pass filtering on the GSM transmit paths, avoiding the need for external harmonic attenuation, says the company. They also integrate GSM receive bandpass filters and are compatible with +1.8V control logic.
The switch filter modules are available in 3.2x3.5x1mm, 21pin packages, which allow for small solution size with no need for external DC blocking capacitors when no external DC is applied to device ports, claims the company. They feature five linear 3G and 4G paths that offer good band combination and air interface, integrated distributed control system and personal communications service Rx SAW filters with single balanced output, spec-compliant down to 1.3V control voltage, and less than 2kV human body model on all non-Rx ports.
