Fairchild Semiconductor has introduced the FDMF6708N generation II XS compact, integrated driver MOSFETs for high-current, high-frequency, synchronous buck DC/DC applications. The driver MOSFETs integrate a driver IC, two power MOSFETs, and a bootstrap Schottky diode into a thermally enhanced, 6x6mm2 power QFN Intel DrMOS v4.0 standard package. The driver MOSFETs delivers high-switching frequency and high power density, claims the company. They feature zero cross detect circuitry, which is claimed to offer good light load performance, SyncFET technology, and clip-bond packaging with low source inductance. The driver MOSFETs are suitable for use in applications requiring 600kHz to 1MHz switching frequency, even with a 20V input voltage. The driver MOSFETs are also suitable for use in ultrabook applicaitons.
