Reference: 47894

The BVM Group has announced an expansion card which can be used to add Bluetooth and WiFi to any embedded PC with a MiniPCIe or a PCI Express mini-slot. The STA-MU is compatible with both PCIe and USB interfaces with the host machine. A patented single aerial technology allows WiFi and Bluetooth to share channels in co-existence mode. The card is supplied as a kit complete with a SMA pigtail cable and a mini antenna. The card supports 802.11b/g, giving data rates up to 54Mbit/s, and Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR, which provides data rates up to 3Mbit/s. Up to seven, separate Bluetooth devices can be supported simultaneously. WiFi security is ensured through the provision of the WPA, WPA2 and 802.1X protocols within the card. Typical applications include multimedia streaming and the implementation of multi-technology wireless networks.
