The range of resistance decade boxes launched by Cropico includes a series of 5, 6 and 8 decade boxes specifically designed to provide highly accurate and variable standard values of resistance and current for calibration, comparison and test applications in the laboratory or workshop. With a resistance range from 0.001 Ohm to 11MOhm and an accuracy of 0.01% across the eight-model series, the resistance decade boxes are incorporated in a rugged lightweight metal case. Gold-plated brass contacts on the switches ensure low contact resistance and negligible thermal EMF. The resistor windings comprise an exclusive air-cushioned technique that provides virtually stress-free elements for improved performance. The elements are non-inductively wound, and the direction of each winding is reversed at the half-turn points. Long-term stability makes the units well-suited for precise resistance-thermometer and -insulation simulation.
