A sub-1GHz radio-frequency transceiver, the CC1101 targets low-power wireless applications in alarm and security, automatic meter reading and industrial or building control and monitoring. The chip is designed for the ISM- and short-range-device frequency bands at 315, 433, 868 and 915MHz. However, the device can also be easily programmed for operation at other frequencies in the 300 to 348MHz, 387 to 464MHz and 779 to 928MHz bands. Excellent frequency band and modulation-format support enable compatibility with existing RF end equipments. The IC provides extensive hardware support for package handling, data buffering, burst transmissions, clear-channel assessment, link-quality indication and wake-on radio. The main operating parameters and the 64byte transmit/receive FIFOs can be controlled via an SPI interface. The chip comes in a QLP-20 package.
