The IQ36xxxQTA family of isolated 1/4 DC/DC converters targets predominantly the railway and transportation industry but is also suitable for a variety of other applications due to its very wide 4:1 input-voltage range (18 to 75V). This 36V nominal-input device comes in an industry-standard footprint and pinout and is capable of delivering up to 120W of power in the following single-output configurations: 1.8V at 40A; 3.3V at 30A; 5V at 24A; 7V at 17A; 12V at 10A; 15V at 8A; 24V at 5A; 30V at 4A and 48V at 2.5A. With a wide trim range of +10 to -20%, several other voltages - from 1.45 to 53V - can easily be achieved. Basic-grade isolation from input to output of 2250VDC offers the flexibility of choosing either a positive or negative output, and enables users to connect the outputs in series to create higher voltages. The units are available in one of three mechanical configurations: open frame for convection-cooled applications, with an attached baseplate for conduction-cooled applications, and fully encapsulated for harsh-environment applications. The encapsulated option brings the additional benefit of having reinforced-grade isolation from input to output. Calculated MTBF figures of the IQ36-QTA series are in excess of 2 million hours. The operating temperature ranges from -40 to +100°C.
