LeCroy has released software enhancements that add native support for Windows Vista to its USB-analyser family. Interest in connecting protocol test equipment directly to Windows Vista-based PCs is growing due to the popularity of laptops in engineering environments. This new USB software release (version 2.5) is available for download now and also includes new device-class decodes for specialised upper-level protocols, including IP, IrDA, ATAPI, and HTTP. It means that users can easily connect their USB analysers to some of the state-of-the-art PCs and thus take advantage of the flexibility and enhanced security that Windows Vista has to offer. The updated software is available for the LeCroy USBTracer/Trainer, USB Advisor, and USB Mobile High-Speed products. Support for Vista should make the test set-up much more convenient to carry out.
