The LEA-5 GPS module series brings the high performance of the u-blox 5 positioning engine to the industry-standard LEA form factor. The engine offers a very acquisition time thanks to its 50-channel GPS architecture with over one million correlators and separate acquisition and tracking engines, capable of a great number of parallel searches. Combined with u-blox' AssistNow A-GPS service, the chips and modules of the u-blox 5 family acquire satellite signals in less than 1s. The LEA-5 modules feature a -160dBm acquisition and tracking sensitivity. The lead-free units are specified for the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C and are suitable for SMT pick-and-place processes.
