FCI has increased its range of special cable connectors with the development of a Sofix connector with improved EMC shielding effectiveness. The Sofix connector is a metric cable connector for signal transmissions in telecom or industrial applications. FCI has worked with one of the major players in worldwide telecom systems applications to develop a cable connector to meet the growing needs of this industry. They have taken this solution and used it to develop an extended portfolio of cable connector solutions that can be offered to all customers.

The Sofix connector (PN: 10074494-231LF) is an RoHS-compliant, 72 position I/O solution with 2mm spacing range and the capability to handle harsh electrical and mechanical environments. This product ensures an improved shielding effectiveness to reduce EMC emission and reception. This is done by the use of strong inner and outer ferules fixed between the two covers. The continuity of the grounding from cable to system frame ensures stable shielding as requested by the customer application. The covers also protect the connector from radiation and reception. FCI can adopt this improved shielded cable solution to any customer needs.
