The 1999 CHP series product family of 980nm pump laser modules is designed for terrestrial applications. The unit contains the 1999 LCv2 980nm laser chip, which is Telcordia-qualified and capable of delivering over 900mW at 1100mA. The module comes in a low profile 14-pin butterfly package with a PMF (polarisation-maintaining-fiber) pigtail. Other features include fiber Bragg grating stabilisation, multiple-wavelength availability, and an integrated thermo-electric cooler with a precision NTC thermistor. The laser module also has a back-facet monitor photodiode. It will deliver up to 660mW kink-free output power from -5 to +75°C, for use in low-noise erbium-doped fiber amplifiers.
