The MX38 and MX39 interconnect systems are optimised for high-speed data in automotive driver-information and passenger-entertainment systems. The two-conductor MX38 system incorporates features for the distribution of high-speed data at LVDS levels and is suited for carrying serial data from externally mounted cameras, fulfilling parking and vehicle-guidance functions. MX38 interconnects will also distribute DVD and TV video and audio to seat-mounted LCDs, as part of RSE (rear-seat entertainment) systems. The MX39 system explicitly addresses the challenges of in-car USB and IEEE1394 FireWire interconnects. To ensure optimum performance in high-data-rate applications, each of the new interconnect systems is delivered as a complete cable and connector assembly dedicated to the target subsystem and vehicle platform.
