The ISL78100 is a high-power integrated LED-driver IC designed for display-backlighting and body-electronics applications. The device is designed specifically to withstand harsh automotive environments; its flexible construction means it can be configured to optimally drive from one to eight high-brightness LEDs, while being capable of operating in boost, buck or SEPIC configurations. The driver also features two methods of controlling LED light levels: via a DC bias current, or through the use of an external PWM signal for more accurate control of the LED-colour temperature. In addition, there are optional integrated protection features that the designer can choose from.
