Traditional fan motors all run on a basic principle of operation : a continuous repulsive force between the magnets within the rotor and the stator triggers the rotation of the blades. MagLev fan brings about a significant improvement in fan-motor design as the rotational orbit of the rotor is controlled by the MagLev guiding track. The result of this is that the shaft and bearing never come into contact, regardless of the angle of the fan. Consequently, there is no abrasive noise emission, and life span is extended by at least 50,000 hours in normal temperature. The internal design of the MagLev fan differs also from that of the conventional fan.
