Allegro MicroSystems Europe has introduced its new families of Hall-effect sensors, including a number of precision current sensors designed for automotive and industrial applications. New products include the ACS714 and ACS715 automotive-grade Hall-effect linear current sensors, which combine high accuracy with good voltage isolation. Total output error is 1.5% at +25°C and 5% over the range -40°C to +150°C, and the risetime in response to a step input current is 6µs. The terminals of the conductive path are electrically isolated from the sensor leads with an isolation voltage of 2.1 kV RMS, allowing the sensors to be used in applications requiring electrical isolation without the use of opto-isolators or other isolation techniques. Also new is the ACS756 high-speed, low-noise Hall-effect current sensor, which offers 3 kV RMS voltage isolation and a low-resistance current conductor for 50-100 A current measurements. The device has a 125 kHz bandwidth capability, and makes use of Allegro's low-loss leadframe technology and the fast response capability of the monolithic Hall-effect sensor IC.

The A1351 is a high-precision linear Hall-effect sensor IC with a 125 Hz push/pull pulse-width-modulated (PWM) output that is proportional to an applied magnetic field. The A1351 converts an analogue signal from its internal Hall sensor element to a digitally encoded PWM output signal. The coupled noise immunity of the digitally encoded PWM output is higher than the noise immunity of an analogue output signal, making the device suited to current and position sensing applications in the automotive and industrial markets. The A1360 Series is a family of low-noise programmable linear Hall-effect sensors with user-adjustable bandwidth for high current sensing. The new devices feature noise levels as low as 8 mV peak-to-peak and bandwidth adjustable between 100 Hz and 50 kHz. They also use Allegro's new 1 mm thin, 4-lead single-inline package.
