Emerson Network Power has launched a 100-150 watt AC-DC supply, featuring a compact open-frame design measuring 5.1 x 10.2cm. The supply features a full load efficiency of 88% and power density of 0.9 watts per cubic centimetre. The supply is designed for ITE (information technology equipment) and light industrial systems and equipment intended for non-patient contact and non-patient critical use in low-power medical, dental and laboratory applications. The supply features a 85-264Vac input and is also capable of operating from a 120-300Vdc input. The power supply produces a regulated main 12Vdc output, together with an isolated 12Vdc fan output. The fan output is rated at 1A, while the main output can deliver up to 8.3A continuously with convection cooling, or up to 12.5A continuously with 30CFM forced air cooling. Active power factor correction is employed to minimise input harmonic current distortion. The LPS103-M has a power factor of 0.99. The power supply features protection against overvoltage, overtemperature and short-circuit conditions. A ‘power fail' signal will change state at least 6ms before the main output loses regulation. The power supplies can operate over the temperature range of 0-50˚C without de-rating.
