Emerson Network Power has launched a series of 250W AC/DC power supplies that feature both ITE and non-patient contact and non-patient medical safety approvals. The new LPS200-M series power supplies are compact open-frame designs, measuring 7.6x12.7cm, with 3.9cm height and 0.66W/cm3 power density. The supplies feature 90 to 264VAC input and can operate from a 120 to 300VDC input. The series includes two power supplies: the LPS203-M, with a 12VDC main output, and the LPS205-M, which has a 24VDC main output. The 12V model can deliver up to 10.3A continuously with convection cooling, or up to 20.8A continuously with 30 CFM forced air cooling.The 24V model is rated at 5.2A continuous with convection cooling and 10.4A continuous with 30 CFM forced air cooling. Both the models produce an isolated 12VDC fan output that can deliver up to 1A. Active power factor correction is employed to minimise input harmonic current distortion. Both supplies have a maximum safety-ground leakage current of 275µA, and a main output hold-up time of 16ms minimum when fed with a 120VAC input and delivering 250W of output power. The supplies feature a power fail signal for remote monitoring purposes which will change state at least 6ms before the main output loses regulation. The supplies have a full load ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 50°C without de-rating.
