The magnetic sensor product portfolio of austriamicrosystems has been expanded with the inclusion of the AS5304 and AS5306, two linear Hall sensor ICs. The ICs feature magnetic encoders for linear and off-axis motion sensing applications.The devices require no configuration or calibration by the host controller after power up or during operation. The ICs provide incremental A and B quadrature output signals with 160 steps per magnet pole pair, and an index pulse that is applied once every pole pair. The AS5304 and AS5306 ICs can achieve resolutions of 25μm and 15μm, respectively. The devices are specified to operate at 5V over a temperature range of -40 to +125°C.
