EKF Elektronik has introduced the CCJ-RHYTHM that operates as a CompactPCI Express (CPCIe) system slot controller. The board is available as a single passive hybrid backplane that allows an integration of CPCI I/O boards and CPCIe cards. It is also available as two individual passive backplanes. The slot interface has a 6-port 24-lane PCIe packet switch. Four ports configured as 4x4 or 2x8 establish the slot interface. The slot controller is provided with high-speed communication channels including FireWire and USB. Optionally available, a DVI connector allows for dual screen video operating mode. The board can accommodate either a hard disk (2.5 inch or 1.8 inch) and/or an USB SSD.
