The APTIV covering film, available from Victrex, provides an insulation solution that meets the FAA's performance requirements while giving the airlines a lighter-weight solution. The film can be produced at 6µm thickness; it also features lower specific gravity. It is produced from Victrex Peek polymer and provides all of the properties of Victrex Peek in a flexible format. The properties include good inherent permeation barrier properties and low moisture absorption, good wear and abrasion properties, broad chemical resistance, and low smoke and toxic-gas emissions; it is also halogen-free in accordance with IEC 61249-2-21.
