To secure its Enabler III low-power embedded and Spider integrated platforms, Enfora is using the Allynis M2M embedded SIM card from Gemalto. Using its own SIM control algorithms and Gemalto's SIM technology, Enfora believes it is able to provide more robust and durable asset management. Removable-SIM-card and related technology have been a significant limiting factor in applications designed for the monitoring and tracking of assets over extended periods and/or under extreme environmental conditions. Embedded SIM technology accelerates deployment as customers can go directly from the factory to the field without provisioning and manually inserting a SIM card. Gemalto's SIM technology is, according to the company, more resistant to the effects of extreme temperature, vibration and humidity, and therefore is more apt to withstand extreme environmental conditions.
