Data Translation has expanded its line of multifunction USB data acquisition board. Designed as a special board level OEM version, the module allows easy and economic integration with custom applications. It features eight DI or 16 SE analogue inputs, two hardware-synchronised analogue outputs and 16 digital I/O channels. The data acquisition board runs completely on USB power, with all input and output channels isolated to protect the host computer. The 500V galvanic isolation ensures high performance in industrial embedded systems and maximises accuracy and signal integrity. The module offers a 16-bit resolution on both ADC and DAC and provides four software-programmable gains for the analogue inputs. The data acquisition board has two counter/timers that can be used for frequency measurements or pulse generation. All I/O subsystems can be operated simultaneously at sampling rates of up to 150kHz. The signals are attached through ribbon cable connectors. OEMs can optionally plug their own boards directly into the data acquisition module for custom signal conditioning. The software package is complemented by a ready-to-measure application that is optimally customised for the USB module. The application features a user interface and offers the functionality of many standard measurement instruments.
