Futek has introduced an intrinsically safe PMP500 pressure sensor. Multiple intrinsically safe approvals include FM, ATEX, CE conformity and CSA and these approvals provide global recognition and acceptance of the intrinsically safe ratings.
The stainless steel, rugged construction features an all welded measuring cell making the transmitter improved for media compatibility. The compact design also makes the pressure sensor suitable for industrial applications including, chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas refining, food industry and mechanical engineering functions. This sensor can specifically be used in pressure measurement applications where intrinsically safe ratings are required. There are no internal soft sealing materials that may react with the media or deteriorate over time. The compact case is also made of stainless steel and is available with environmental protection rating up to NEMA 6P / IP 68.
Each PMP500 undergoes quality control testing and calibration to achieve an accuracy of 0.25% full scale. The printed circuit boards use advanced surface mount technology and are potted in silicone gel for protection against mechanical shock, vibration and moisture. This sensor is individually temperature compensated to ensure accuracy and long-term stability, when exposed to severe temperature variations. A half inch NPT female conduit connection is standard and a cable compression electrical connection is available as an option. A quarter inch NPT male threads are also available. It features 4mA to 20mA two-wire output.
