Murata Power Solutions has launched the C1U-W-1200-12-Tx and C1U-W-12-48-Tx AC/DC front-end power supplies, which are designed to provide 1200W of high efficiency and high power density. The power supplies suit a wide range of distributed power and redundant applications for the delivery of bulk power to servers, workstations and storage systems in sectors such as industrial, automation, test and measurement and control. The 1U, PDC (power-factor-corrected) units feature a universal AC input. The C1U-W-1200-12-Tx has a main output of 12V and standby outputs of either 5 or 3.3V; the C1U-W-12-48-Tx has a main output of 48V and a choice of 5, 3.3 or 12V standby outputs. Both power supplies feature active current sharing on their main output and have a power density of 9.2W/inch3. Safety features include over-voltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection with auto-recovery. The RoHS-compliant units have overall dimensions of 42.5x139.7x361.2mm. The operating-temperature range is 0 to +50ºC, and the demonstrated MTBF (mean time before failure) is 200,000 hours. These front-end power supplies meet the requirements of UL 94V-0; their safety approvals include EN60950-1:2001 and CSA60950-1-03.
