Devlin Electronics has introduced the CleanKey keyboard, a silicon rubber waterproof keyboard that is designed for healthcare environments. It allows cleaning either at the point of use or by submersion. The keyboard is moulded from a single piece of silicon rubber and this makes it suitable for different applications.
Generally, the keyboards used in hotels are susceptible to the introduction of a key logger or other such devices, which allow hackers to glean information as it is entered into the keyboard. The CleanKey can provide security for this application as its sealed design prevents the introduction of any foreign devices. The full travel keys present in this keyboard denotes that the security enhancement would not compromise on the users' touch typing ability. Devlin will be exhibiting this keyboard at CeBit in Hannover from the 3 - 8 March 2009.
